New Naturli Café: Here’s Why You Will Love It Too

Last month Naturli opened its first plant-based café in Oslo. Located in Skøyen -it’s extremely easy to get there by public transport-, all their meals are made with their own products. They are open 7-17 (10-16) and the menu includes smoothie bowls, salad bowls and burgers

Naturli is a Danish brand that creates vegan products and promotes improving our eating habits. They use slogans such as “Be the change” or “There is no planet B”, and their idea is also to use this café as an innovation center for testing new Naturli’ products.

THE PLACE

Open, industrial ish but cozy. The café isn’t very spacious but it’s great that they have a lovely outdoor sitting area.

I went there on a Thursday at 12:30 and probably because it was lunch time, it was full. And by full I mean full. The environment is suitable for mommies with babies, colleagues meeting over a coffee, or friends catching up. It’s probably not the ideal atmosphere for a romantic date, but anything else goes.

FOOD & PRICE

Their menu offers a wide variety of meals. I went for the Middle East Bowl, which was a very tasty salad that left me highly satisfied. I was a bit disappointed with the falafel waffle because of its flavour, but overall it was good and fresh. I also ordered a carrot cake, a gluten-free brownie and hot chocolate to drink. Yes, I do have a sugar addiction.

I cannot emphasise enough how delicious and perfect this carrot cake was. The silky texture, the creamy frosting, the freshness, and “not too sweet, not too spicy”. Definitely the best carrot cake I’ve ever had. And believe me, I’m a carrot cake freak. I’m eternally grateful to Cake Sisters Oslo for making this and a ton of other wonderful cakes and bringing sweetness to life.

Regarding pricing, it’s slightly cheaper than Nordvegan or Oslo Raw and on the same page as Funky Fresh Foods, to name a few. I was lucky they had a promotion when I visited and I got all this for half price (156,- NOK). In addition, they give you 10% of the value of your first order (in my case 15kr) that can then be used on your second purchase. Not bad at all!

SERVICE

As takeaway becomes more popular, Naturli is following the trend and you can grab something delicious on the go or to take home and enjoy on the sofa. Another plus is that you can buy all their products there, stuff that you can’t find anywhere else, like ice cream for example. On top of that, they publish these and other recipes on their website so you can recreate them at home.

The staff is welcoming and if you’re dining in, you order via QR code, unless you order takeout.

WHY WILL YOU LOVE THIS PLACE TOO?

Firstly, Naturli have managed to strike a great balance between quality food and price, it’s not expensive and the sizes won’t disappoint you. Secondly, if you enjoy desserts and cakes, they have a great variety of pastries and sweets.

In my opinion, the Naturli Cafe really is worth a visit. I’ll definitely be going back to eat more delicious carrot cake and try the cookie dough cupcakes that Cake Sisters Oslo make exclusively for Naturli with their products and can only be found there.

If you like having a sweet or savoury breakfast, then visit Naturli.
If you like salad bowls and mexican inspired meals, then visit Naturli.
If you like burgers, then visit Naturli.
If you like cakes and desserts, then definitely visit Naturli!

Supporting regular companies that offer vegan options is fantastic, but supporting businesses that only use cruelty-free products and that make an effort to reduce their impact on the environment is amazing.
